FAQ
Questions
What people ask before they start. Anything not answered here, email Kurt at kurt@teamnextlevel.au.
Who Kurt coaches
Is it only for competitors?
No. People who want to build muscle or get lean get the same coaching, the same check-ins and the same attention from Kurt, without a prep or a show day.
Which divisions does Kurt coach?
All of them, for women and men. That is Bikini, Wellness, Figure, Fit Model, Men's Physique, Classic Physique and Bodybuilding. Of the 14 IFBB Pro Cards his clients have won, 8 are in women's divisions and 6 in men's. Training is planned for what each division is judged on.
Does Kurt coach natural and enhanced athletes?
Kurt coaches natural and enhanced athletes, and reviews bloodwork for both.
Can I start with an injury or a health condition?
Yes. Many of Kurt's clients train with an injury or a health condition, including after surgery. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Kurt programs around it and builds rehab into your training. You list it in the starting questionnaire, and where there is a known health condition Kurt may ask for a GP's clearance first. Performance is the plan for this.
Can I join from outside Australia?
Yes. Coaching runs online in the Team Next Level app, so you can be anywhere. Prices are in Australian dollars.
The plans
Which plan should I choose?
If you compete and your show is within about 16 weeks, start on Performance Prep. If you are between shows, building muscle or getting lean, or training around an injury or a health condition, start on Performance Offseason. Foundation is for you if you don't compete, have no injury or health condition to manage, and want the plans with less contact. Elite and Private Client are for competitors who want more contact with Kurt, and both start with an application.
What is the difference between Offseason and Prep?
Both are the Performance plan. Both include the training program, the meal plan, the supplement plan, voice notes and bloodwork review. Offseason is $99 a week with a check-in every 2 weeks. Prep is $129 a week with a check-in every week, plus a peak week plan, a show day plan and reverse diet guidance after the show. Prep runs from about 16 weeks before a show until 4 weeks after it.
What happens when I book a show?
When the show is about 16 weeks away, Kurt moves you to Prep, with written notice at least 7 days before the rate changes. You can cancel within those 7 days. Four weeks after the show, you move back to Offseason.
Why are Elite and Private Client by application?
Elite has 5 places and Private Client has 2, because of the time each one takes. The application is short and free, and Kurt reads each one himself before anything is paid.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, by email to Kurt. If you move up from Foundation to Performance, you don't pay the setup fee again. Elite and Private Client need an application.
How coaching works
What happens after I pay?
The payment link opens a Team Next Level sign-up page, where you make an account and pay. Then you fill in a questionnaire on your training, nutrition, health and goals. Kurt writes your training program, nutrition plan and supplement plan from it and sets them up in the app.
Is there a call before the plan is written?
Yes, if you want one. After signing up, you can have a strategy call with Kurt before the plan is written. Some clients prefer to start straight from the questionnaire.
How do check-ins work?
On your check-in day, you fill in a check-in form in the Team Next Level app, with your weight, progress photos and answers about the week. Kurt reviews it, tracks your progress and adjusts the plan where it is needed, and you are told what changes and why. Foundation and Performance Offseason check in every 2 weeks, with weekly check-ins for the first 2 weeks on Offseason. Performance Prep and Elite check in every week, and Private Client daily.
Who reads and answers the check-ins?
Kurt. He is the only coach at Team Next Level and reads every check-in himself. The response terms for each plan are set out in the Service Agreement.
Can I message Kurt between check-ins?
Yes, in the Team Next Level app. On Performance, Elite and Private Client you can send voice notes as well as messages. Foundation is messages only.
What if I miss a check-in or travel?
Kurt follows up a missed check-in. If there is still no reply, he may adjust the plan from the most recent data he has. For travel or anything longer, you can pause coaching for up to 4 weeks.
Are the plans templates?
No. Kurt writes each client's training program, nutrition plan and supplement plan from their questionnaire, and adjusts them from what the check-ins show.
Who sees check-in photos?
Only Kurt.
What is the Team Next Level app?
The app where your training program, nutrition plan and supplement plan live, where you fill in check-ins, and where you message Kurt. It is part of every plan.
Health and bloodwork
What does Kurt do with bloodwork?
You get bloods done through your GP or a pathology lab and send the results in the app. Kurt reviews them, tracks them over time and takes them into account in your plan. He does not diagnose, and he is not a doctor. Performance, Elite and Private Client include a bloodwork review at least every quarter.
What happens if something needs a doctor?
Coaching is not medical advice. If something in a check-in or in bloodwork needs a doctor, Kurt asks you to see your GP, and he can talk with your GP if required.
Paying, billing and cancelling
What does the $199 first week cover?
Building your plans and your first week of coaching. After that, the weekly price starts. There is no setup fee when you pay 4 weeks up front (the weekly price then starts from week 5), or when a current client referred you.
How does billing work?
Billing is weekly, in advance. Your weekly rate stays the same while you remain a client with no gap, even if prices rise for new clients.
Is there a minimum term?
No. You can cancel at any time with 7 days' notice by email. After the 7 days, coaching runs to the end of whatever you have paid for, and then stops.
Is there a refund or a money-back guarantee?
No. There is no money-back guarantee and no refund for a change of mind, and there is no trial period. The $199 first week covers the work of building your plans, and if you pay 4 weeks up front that work is covered by the up-front payment instead. If Kurt ends the coaching himself, for example because your needs are outside his scope, any prepaid unused weeks are refunded. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
Can I pause?
Yes, for up to 4 weeks, with 7 days' notice. Kurt emails you 72 hours before billing restarts, and it restarts automatically unless you cancel.
Is there a referral offer?
Yes. A client who refers a friend gets 2 free weeks, and the friend pays no setup fee. If a current client referred you, email Kurt for your payment link.
Are there any other discounts?
No. The setup fee comes off when you pay 4 weeks up front or when you were referred, and that is all.
Results
Can Kurt guarantee a placing or an IFBB Pro Card?
No. A placing depends on the judging on the day, who else is in the lineup, and how the prep went. Kurt writes the plan, reviews every check-in and adjusts the plan as the prep goes, and the athlete does the work. No placing is promised.
